Here's a small list of Small Businesses to buy from instead of helping Jeff Bezos get richer

I decided to take the plunge to really start trying to #boycottamazon. This tweet below made me take a turn in my ways…or at least attempt. It’s interesting to see, especially in America the way big businesses have grown exceedingly pushing out all the “Mom & Pop” shops we once knew. I’m seeing now that with the pandemic PLUS all that capitalism that it has the potential to make small unique businesses a thing of the past.

So I asked my followers on Facebook and Instagram if they had any small businesses they are supporting and below is a small list. But before that list, I’ve added some helpful links I’ve found so that we can think first about businesses owned by Black, Brown and People of Color (BIPOC). Why? Well, this would go into a longer discussion about racism that I hope to delve into soon, but for now, from all that I’ve been reading and learning this year, I see that racism is not just a personal problem, but that it goes so deep in a system that still impacts BIPOC in a real way. I want to try, even if it’s starts with small steps to support businesses run by people who have had a whole system against them as a way to try to bring things on a more equal balance.
